CLEANSE CRYSTALS
Yes. We exclusively use skin-safe fragrance oils formulated and tested to meet global IFRA (International Fragrance Association) and RIFM (Research Institute for Fragrance Materials) standards for safety and quality.
Which avoid unnecessary additives and prioritize clean-burning formulations that exclude known hazardous chemicals, including phthalates, toxins, ingredients listed on California’s Prop 65, and other potentially harmful substances.
We use Eco Soy Wax 464, a plant-based wax made from soybeans grown primarily in the United States. It is 100% plant-based and includes a small soy-derived additive that helps the wax burn evenly and bind fragrance effectively.
Compared to paraffin, soy wax burns cleaner and produces minimal soot when the wick is trimmed and maintained properly. It supports a steady flame, creates a consistent melt pool, and extends the life of your candle.
Eco Soy Wax 464 is free from harmful additives and designed specifically for container candles. That means you get an even burn, strong scent throw, and a cleaner experience in your home every time you light it.
Yes. ☺️
Each candle is:
• Hand-poured in small batches
• Cured for optimal scent throw
• Wick-tested for quality
• Inspected before shipping
We focus on craftsmanship at every step.
Our candles are designed to create a noticeable yet balanced scent experience.
They are not overpowering. Instead, they are layered and intentional, meant to enhance a space without overwhelming it.
A little care goes a long way.
Before each burn, trim your wick(s) to 1/4 inch with scissors, fingernail clippers or wick trimmers before each burn session. This prevents excessive flame height and reduces soot. Always burn your candle on a heat-safe surface away from drafts and never leave it unattended.
When the burning session is complete, snuff your candle out gently instead of blowing (do not use the lid), and let it cool completely before relighting.
Container candles should burn for 1 hour for every inch in diameter the top of the container measures.
In most cases, the first burn, or Memory Burn, should be for 3 to 4 hours to ensure that the wax pool reaches the edges of the jar, preventing tunneling in future burns.
Example: a container with a three (3) inch diameter should burn for at least 3 hours and more than 4 hours.
We recommend burning your Pure East Candle Co. soy candle for no more than 3-4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and potential fire hazards.
Each Pure East Candle Co. candle is designed to burn slowly and evenly. Depending on the size, you can expect around 30–45 hours of total burn time.
To get the most out of your candle, trim the wick to 1/4 inch and let the wax melt fully across the top during your first burn — this helps prevent tunneling and gives you that beautiful, even pool of wax all the way down.
Let it cool completely before your next burning session, ensuring the wax has hardened which allows for proper burn time. Remember to trim wick to 1/4 inch before each subsequent burning session.
Frosting is a natural characteristic of pure soy wax — it looks like a subtle frost or crystal film that can appear on the surface or sides of the candle over time. It happens because soy wax is made from natural vegetable oils, and as it cures and cools, small crystal formations can appear.
Frosting does not indicate a flaw in the candle — in fact, it confirms the purity and natural composition of the wax. Unlike paraffin or wax blends, pure soy wax has no synthetic hardeners or stabilizers to prevent crystal formation, so occasional frosting is expected and completely normal.
Temperature shifts during curing, storage, or shipping can increase frosting — especially in cooler conditions — but it will not affect fragrance throw, burn performance, or overall candle quality. It is simply a natural characteristic of authentic soy wax and a sign you're burning a cleaner, plant-based candle.
Candle tunneling occurs when a candle burns down the center, leaving a hollow tunnel of wax around the wick. It can hinder your candle's proper burn, diminishing its overall aesthetics and scent throw.
To prevent your candle from tunneling, ensure that the wax pool reaches the edges of the jar during the first burn and trim the wick(s) to 3/8 inch before each subsequent burn.
Black soot on the candle container can occur if the wick(s) is too long or if the candle is burning in a drafty area. Trim the wick(s) to 3/8 inch and move the candle to a less drafty location.
We chose ceramic because it is durable, natural, and designed to be reused.
Once your candle has finished burning, the vessel can become:
• A planter
• A trinket dish
• A match holder
• A desk or shelf accent
We design each piece to live beyond the burn.
Absolutely. Our ceramic and tin containers can be cleaned and repurposed for storage or decoration. Note: containers are not dishwasher, food, or beverage safe. See CLEANSE CONTAINERS above for cleaning instructions.
Many of our customers use their candle tumblers and tins for small plants, pens, cotton rounds, or even as tea-light holders.
Yes, soy candles are typically considered better for the environment as they are made from a renewable resource and produce less soot and toxins than traditional paraffin wax candles.
We combine:
• Clean-burning soy wax
• Skin-safe fragrance oils
• Reusable ceramic vessels
• Culturally inspired, intentional design
You’re not just purchasing a candle. You’re bringing ritual, craftsmanship, and thoughtful materials into your space.
